It is about 5 km from Lake Abashiri to the Sea of Okhotsk at its mouth. It takes about two hours to reach the roadside station “Ryuhyo-kaido Abashiri” by walking along the Abashiri River while taking pictures. There are campers and canoeists on Lake Abashiri and cyclists and walkers along the Abashiri River. Also, there are fishermen’s boats in the Abashiri River and the roadside station serve as a departure and arrival point for sightseeing boats. The roadside station looks like a “river station.”
