The Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station is a learning facility that displays disaster prevention and evacuation supplies and introduces the history of rivers. Because it was built on the site where Ebetsu Port used to be, a life-size replica of the Kamikawa Maru, a steamship that sailed the Ishikari River until 1935, is displayed first-floor atrium. On the second floor, a diorama of the river and the town in the Meiji era is a must-see.
In addition to learning about disaster prevention, there is also a store where you can buy Ebetsu’s specialties, and a snack corner where you can enjoy the popular Ebetsu offal set meal, ramen noodles made with Ebetsu wheat, and rich ice cream. Enjoy the many delicacies while learning about disaster prevention!
