Lake Shikaribetsu straddles the Shikaoi Town and Kamishihoro Town. Lake Shikaribetsu is the only natural lake in the Daisetsuzan National Park and is located at an altitude of 810 meters, the highest lake in Hokkaido. The boat operates from mid-May to early November, offering a morning cruise that departs at 7:00 a.m. when the morning fog lingers and a night cruise that departs at 8:00 p.m. when you can enjoy the moonlight and stars (reservation required). The price of 1,100 yen per adult is also attractive. On the boat, you will be guided through the nature of Lake Shikaribetsu, Ainu legends, and various other charms, making it one of the waterside activities recommended in Tokachi.
