The visible world changes to pure white during Hokkaido’s winter. The land transforms into a snowfield and the waterside transforms into a world of ice. Although the coldness is extreme, it is this coldness that brings these sceneries and experiences.
4 girls and boys arrived at the Tokachi-Obihiro Airport to enjoy “Kawatabi” during winter in Hokkaido. They went on a road trip in the never-ending snowfields, took on a more active experience by riding a snowmobile, and proceeded to exploring Satsunai River with dogs through dog-sledding.
They brought a pellet stove to experience winter camping at night. After dinner, they went on a night hike to a special place to gaze at the heaven full of stars shining on a winter night.
The following day, they transferred to Tokachi River where fog rises to experience hot air balloon and nature cruising. They enjoyed watching the daily life of winter animals from the point of view of the river. To cap off their trip, they left the Tokachi River and went to the Pacific Ocean estuary to see the “jewelry ice”, a mystical ice created by nature.
Enjoy this video for now, but once things settle down, would you like to try “Kawatabi” in Hokkaido and experience a winter camping trip for 2 days and 1 night?
