There is a small and clear stream called the Tearai River, one of the tributaries of the Memuro River. Visitors pray for safety of climbing in the Mt. Tsurugi Shrine near the river and then proceed to the climbing road while listening to the sound of the flowing river. The mountain summit at an elevation of 1205m is a rocky stretch, and as the name of the mountain suggests there are swords sticking out of the ground. It is a popular mountain with a sweeping view of the Tokachi Plain.
It takes about 3 hours to climb and about 2 hours to descend. Although it is a mountain that can be climbed by beginners, visitors can create special memories when they climb the ladder near the peak.
