[Capturing the Rivers of Hokkaido!]
Old Ishikari River where swans gather

Tomoe-numa is located on the border of Ebetsu City and Iwamizawa.
Maps and other information show Tomoe-numa as the old Ishikari River.
At this time of year, the skies over the Ishikari River basin are filled with migratory birds flying northward.
They are looking for lakes and marshes that are thawing.
Because the Tomoe Swamp thaws relatively quickly, swans, ducks, and other waterfowl gather there as if they have been waiting for a long time.
