In late May, I visited the Oshirarika Dam (Lake Shokan) on the upper reaches of the Oshirarika River, which flows through the town of Uryu.Although it is not a dam with a large drop-off, melted snow from the clear mountains of Shokan was flowing over the wide flood discharge.
A “Hojou tower” standing by Lake Shokan.Hojou means a rich harvest of grains.
