[Capturing the Rivers of Hokkaido!]
Lake Shikaribetsu in the Sky

Heading north from the town of Shikaoi, at an altitude of 800 meters, is Lake Shikaribetsu, the only natural lake in the Daisetsuzan National Park.
This lake was created when a river was dammed by volcanic activity. It is a blue color that seems to understand why water is described as blue.
The top photo shows Lake Shikaribetsu and Mt. Tenbo, also known as “Lip Mountain” and if it were calm, Mt. Tenbo would be reflected in the lake and form the shape of lips, but I was not able to capture it this time.
I had photographed the Pika with a group of friends before, and we were there for about four hours, and it only appeared for about five minutes.

Observation deck equipped with chairs.

Soaking in the footbath and having Lake Shikaribetsu for two.

Tracks leading to the bottom of the lake.

Lake Shikaribetsu, where the water is lushly colored.
