Kuttari Dam was jointly constructed by the Hokkaido Development Bureau and Electric Power Development Co. for the purpose of supplying hydraulic power and irrigation water.
The bank and the opposite bank are off-limits, but there is a well-maintained promenade on the right bank, where you will see mountain cicadas, red-headed woodpeckers, and Ezo squirrels, the nobles of the mountain stream, during an hour-long stroll.
I would like to visit again in the fall when the leaves are changing.
