The test flooding of the Shin-Katsurazawa Dam, located upstream of the Ikushunbetsu River that flows through Mikasa City, reached its highest flood level.
The test flooding was open to the public for three days from December 15, 2023, and visitors viewed the rarely seen overflow from the crest gate with curiosity.
