Departing from the Flood Control Memorial Park built to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the flood control, we headed north along the left bank of the Kushiro River.
After about 7 km, we came to a lateral embankment and walked to the riverbank to learn the effect of the embankment.
After another 3 km, we arrived at the Iwaboki sluice gate.
We visited the old sluice gate, which was completed 90 years ago, and took a break to enjoy the view of Kushiro Marsh, Mt. Oakan and Mt. Meakan
