A firefly viewing event was held in Shihoro Town, Tokachi. In 2025, the event took place from Friday, July 25 to Sunday, August 3, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The venue was Shimooribe Asahi Park, located near Roadside Station* Shihoro Onsen Plaza Ryokufu.

After checking in, visitors walked along the waterfront, guided by red lights and carrying rental flashlights to watch their footing. As the gentle sound of a small stream grew louder, just a few minutes’ walk revealed a magical sight—fireflies flickering and dancing in the darkness. Watching the soft, enchanting glow of fireflies living in a natural waterside environment added another unforgettable summer memory.
