The vast Sarobetsu wilderness is registered as a Ramsar Convention wetland.
The Horonobe Visitor Center is located on the south side of the field.
A wooden path is maintained to Naganuma in Shimo-Sarobetsu Wilderness Park, and it takes about one hour to walk there while listening to birds’ singing and finding flowers. About 70 species of flowers welcome visitors from spring to autumn.
