The “Kawatabi Grand Prize” aims to recognize organizations and other groups conducting outstanding activities that contribute to regional revitalization and tourism promotion within river basins in Hokkaido, with the goal of spreading and embedding the “Kawatabi Hokkaido” initiative to contribute to Hokkaido’s development.

◆Eligibility： Activities that contribute to regional revitalization and tourism promotion by fostering interaction between people and rivers through Hokkaido’s rich nature, climate, history, and culture.

◆How to Apply： Please submit the application form via email to the email address of the Development and Construction Department with jurisdiction over the area where the activity is conducted, or submit it by mail or in person.

◆Application Deadline： Friday, December 18, Reiwa 8

◆Awards: Following presentations at the “Kawatabi Report Meeting” hosted by the Hokkaido Development Bureau, activities that receive high evaluations from members of the Kawatabi Grand Prize Selection Committee based on the judging criteria will be selected for the Grand Prize and awarded by the Director-General of the Hokkaido Development Bureau.

◆Announcement of Results: The “Grand Prize” winner is scheduled to be announced around February–March 2027.
