As you cross the Abashiri Bridge over the Abashiri estuary and take a right, the Moyoro Shell Mound, where the Okhotsk people lived some 1300 years ago comes into view. These people known as the Moyoro people, lived off the Sea of Okhotsk, and depended upon it for their livelihood. Be amazed by the distinctive Okhotsk culture, and lifestyles of the Moyoro people, who were hunters that preyed upon large marine mammals and bears.
