Sanru Dam

The dam is situated in the upper reaches of the Sanru River, which merges with the Nayoro River, a tributary of the Teshio River. It is a new dam completed in April 2019 in Shimokawa Town. It supports the lives of local people as a multipurpose dam for flood control and hydropower generation. The dam lake’s name Lake Shimokawa Sanru was chosen from submissions from the public.
