Sorachi River

The Sorachi River has its source in Mt. Kamihorokamettoku (alt. 1,920 m), and its most upstream part is called the Shisorapuchi River. The river flows through Ashibetsu and Akabira cities and merges with the Ishikari River in downtown Takikawa. It has the Kanayama Dam in the upper reaches and the Takisato Dam in the middle reaches. Its watershed is a popular spot for rafting and canoeing. It is the longest river with the largest catchment area among the tributaries of the Ishikari River.
