[Capturing the Rivers of Hokkaido!]
Remnants of Ishikari Great Marsh Groups of Japanese pepper

Once upon a time, peatlands with the Ishikari, Chitose, Toyohira, and Yubari Rivers, as well as many lakes and marshes, were filled with the blooming of the Japanese pepper tree.
After the settlement of Hokkaido, they were no longer seen due to aridification by cultivated land and land reclamation, but thanks to the efforts of the people of the preservation society, more than 60,000 beautiful flowers will bloom again this year from the few flowers that grew naturally in the area.
