I crossed the Furen River, which serves as the boundary from Nemuro City, to Betsukai Town. Both Furen Lake in Hashirikotan and the Notsuke Peninsula have a singular appearance of dead trees, creating a desolate world.I have seen many rivers and marshlands, but the landscape stretching from Nemuro City to Betsukai Town is, in my opinion, the only property of its kind in Hokkaido.
The bottom photo of the Ezo sika deer marching was taken 19 years ago.
Now that the protective fence is up, I could not see the Ezo sika deer.
