This event is held at Lake Shikotsu during the refreshing early summer.
“Chip” is the Hokkaido name for “Himemasu” (princess trout), a freshwater fish of the salmon family found in lakes and other bodies of water in Hokkaido.
The venue will feature a music stage and a “traditional Ainu dance performance,” while the Lake Shikotsu Visitor Center will host “nature craft workshops” using wood chips and nuts—there are plenty of activities for everyone from adults to children to enjoy.
Please come and experience the refreshing early summer atmosphere at Lake Shikotsu.
*Unfortunately, due to a poor catch of “Chip” this year, the sale of salt-grilled “Chip” has been canceled.
