This event is a collaborative project between “Toast by the Water” and the “Tokachi Umakawa Project.”
The Obihiro Development and Construction Department and Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine will host “Toast by the Water 2026” as detailed below.
This time, the two horses that conduct “river horse patrols” along the Satsunai River will also participate and join everyone in a “Cheers!”

◆ Location: Left bank floodplain of the Satsunai River (under the Minami-Obihashi Bridge)
*The “Tokachi Umakawa Project” is an initiative conducted in collaboration with Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine to explore the potential of using horses for river management and disaster prevention activities along the Satsunai River. The project aims to preserve the “horse culture” that has coexisted with the history of Tokachi’s settlement and to further improve river management.
