The “Asahikawa Summer Festival” is a hallmark of Asahikawa City. The Hokkaido Shimbun Summer Fireworks Festival takes place on the first day of the festival.

This year, approximately 4,000 fireworks will be launched from the banks of the Ishikari River, captivating large crowds of spectators every year.

◎ Date and Time: Thursday, July 30, 2026; Fireworks scheduled to begin at 7:45 PM
*In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed to the following day,  July 31(Fri).
◎ Venue: Banks of the Ishikari River in Asahikawa City (between Asahibashi and Shinbashi Bridges)
