The color of the water turns almost emerald green in early May. Some people don’t like this color, but if you look at the river throughout the four seasons, you will see that this color tells the coming of the bright season in Hokkaido after the long, harsh winter.
You can see this color in any river or dam, but the color of the Shuparo is exceptional.
Incidentally, this color is also called “Miku’s color.” This name is said to be derived from Hatsune Miku.
