Obihiro hassho no chi koen(Obihiro birthplace park) is located near the confluence of the Obihiro River and the Satsunai River. The area around the park is called “the birthplace of Obihiro” because it was settled by the people of Bansei-sha, a private pioneer group that laid the foundation for the prosperity of Obihiro.
Residential areas surround the park but still retains a lot of rich nature. Several creeks, including the Bansei River, where subterranean water from the Obihiro River gushes out, provide an oasis for citizens to cool down in the heat of midsummer.
In the spring, the slopes of the river are covered with far east amur adonis, and in the fall, the maple leaves turn red. Why don’t you take a stroll along the waterside, listening to the murmuring of the streams as they change their appearance with the seasons?
