On February 9, 2025, the Sunagawa Winter Festival was held at Sunagawa Oasis Park (Sunagawa Reservoir).
Despite the occasional light snowfall, visitors enjoyed Sunagawa in winter to the fullest.
Twelve groups in unique costumes participated in the costume slide contest, creating a great deal of excitement.
In addition, the ice carousel and snow rafting attracted many families, and the annual wakasagi fishing was also a big hit!

The “costume” slide contest, in which participants dressed up in costumes and sledged down a snow-covered hill for points, entertained the audience.

Many kitchen cars from all over the region were set up, and by lunchtime, there was a long line of people waiting in line.

The “Wakasagi Fishing Experience,” where participants could try their hand at wakasagi fishing with nothing to bring, was also a big hit. Even the children were seriously enjoying themselves.

Adults found good fishing spots and caught many wakasagi.

The ice carousel, also known as an ice merry-go-round. When we actually ride on it, the scenery around you spins around, and it is a magical experience. The human-powered spinning is also an SDGs initiative.

On the stage, a dance performance was performed and the audience was fascinated. Dance is popular in Sunagawa City, and dance teams participate in various events.
