Kushirozakura Yae? I’ve never heard of this cherry blossom variety before.Filled with curiosity, I headed to the long, narrow Yanagimachi Park, which stretches from the Shin-Kushiro River to the Kushiro River.
The Kushiro Yaezakura is a double-flowered cherry variety grown from seedlings of the Ooyamazakura, and its blossoms change from deep red to pink as they bloom.
The next morning was slightly foggy, and the color of the JR Hanasaki Line train crossing the Kushiro River reminded me of the Kushiro Yaezakura.
